17857.org is coordinating a mini-mudder (obstacle course in the mud) event for kids on Sunday, June 29th.  Registrations are now being taken and can be dropped off at the Borough office, 175 Orange. (Drop in mailbox if not open.) There is a nominal charge of $5 per child. All funds will go toward event expenses.  Registrations will be taken the day of the event.

Special Parking Restrictions & Traffic Flow Changes for Pineknotters Day

The following list of streets will be subject to special traffic flow and parking restrictions on the dates and times indicated due to Pineknotter Days events.

*NOTICE* any vehicles found parked in the Temporary No Parking areas during the prohibited times are subject to fines and towing at vehicle owner’s expense.

Effective Thursday June 26, 2014:
No parking on the inside perimeter of the King Street Park.

Effective Friday June 27, 2014:
No Parking in the 100 block of King Street immediately adjacent to
King Street Park

Soapbox Race

The Northumberland Police Department is holding its annual soap box race!   This is a "non-sanctioned, fun" race using official soap box cars. Boys and girls, ages 8-12, will be driving one of the assigned cars that were purchased by the NPD and area businesses. Please arrive promptly at 8:00 am the day of the race.  Race placement will not be quaranteed if you are late. Sign up now! The deadline to register is June 24 at the Borough office.1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded the day of the race.

Fall Festival

Be sure to mark your calendar for the 9th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 26.  The event will take place at the Second Street Community Center, 4-7 pm.   Kids will enjoy free crafts, free games, and fun prizes.  Food and drink will be available for purchase.  Costume contests will be a fun part of the event too!  Prizes will be awarded for the funniest, scariest, cutest, and most creative costumes.    As always, anyone who is interested in helping out with the festival is asked to call the borough office

Trek-for-Treats Treasure Hunt

Something exciting is about to hit Northumberland – the Trek-for-Treats Treasure Hunt!  Goodies have been hidden at select Northumberland businesses and are just waiting to be found by kids.  Treasure maps have been distributed at schools and are available at participating businesses and the borough office.  The goal of this activity is to visit each of the businesses on the map (with an adult) to receive a special treat and a stamp on the map.  Once the treasure map has been stamped by each participating business, kids can turn them into the borough office by 5:00 pm on October 25 to be en
